AC Milan have made a major signing by acquiring the services of Lucas Paqueta according to the Brazil national team coach Tite
The Rossoneri have splashed out around €35 million to bring Flamengo star at the Stadio San Siro. The player should arrive in Italy and officially become new Milan member next January when the transfer window opens.
Brought to inject vision and pace into the shaky attacking department, 21-year-old forward is projected to help out Gonzalo Higuain and Suso in the final third.
Paqueta had been thrust into the spotlight ever since he broke into the Flamengo first team in 2016.
Paqueta’s outstanding performances in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A have recently earned him the first Brazil national team call-up.
The Selecao coach Tite is delighted by the player’s displays and the understanding he has with Neymar and Coutinho, as broadcasted by Calciomercato.
“Paqueta thinks football in the same way as Neymar and Coutinho,” he told Globoesporte.
“When we played against El Salvador, he showed a series of exchanges with Neymar, practically without having never seen him and never played together, his eyes were almost closed.
“When a player from behind senses the movement of the partner and does something of consequence, he is already a long way ahead. His role is that of an offensive midfielder or striker in a trident. He can also play behind a point in a 4-2-3-1. Let’s not forget that he is very strong on his head and is very good at times of insertion in the opposing area, even on high balls.”
Already established as one of the most promising young talents in Brazil, the left-footed Rio de Janeiro native has collected 28 appearances for his boyhood club this year, scoring ten times and providing two assists.
