Brazil defeated Peru in the Copa America Final to lift the continental trophy, while Lionel Messi blamed the CONMEBOL of corruption.

Brazil defeated Peru 3-1 in the Copa America Final at Maraca Stadium yesterday.

This just one day after Argentina defeated Chile in the Third Place match, with Lionel Messi being sent off.

The Argentinean said there was a lot of corruption in CONMEBOL, and today the Selecao manager Tite has said the Barcelona superstar should be more respectful.

“I consider him to be an extra-terrestrial player, but he should show a little more respect,” Tite said in his post-match press conference according to Marca.

“We were in trouble in several matches in this tournament, and in the World Cup.”

“People should be wary of what he said,” he added.

“Everyone has their own situation, but I want to understand what he said because he was unfairly sent off.”

“[Referee] Roberto Tobar was very pressured, he called a penalty that wasn’t and then left us with one less player,” he intimated.

“We had to reorganize to ensure Peru couldn’t draw level.”

Tite explained: “Neymar is one of the three best players in the world, he’s extraordinary, but teamwork is important.”

“It was very important for Portugal when they didn’t have Cristiano Ronaldo in the final of Euro 2016.”

“This team has room to grow from a tactical standpoint, we have players who are just starting out and Vinicius is one of them,” he concluded.
