The Japanese international defender signed this month for the Italian Lega Serie A club and he feels excited to what’s coming up.

Japanese international defender Takehiro Tomiyasu left Belgian club Sint-Truiden to joing Italian Lega Serie A side Bologna.

The Italians paid €7 million to acquire his services.

The Japanese footballer arrived today to train for the first time with his teammates, as he spoke about wanting to win a spot in the starting eleven.

“I want to prove I belong in the starting XI on opening day,” Tomiyasu was quoted by Football Italia.

“I aim to improve my defensive skills.”

He explained: “Going up against top-class strikers will help my development.”

“I want to be a player who can marshal the team from the back.”

“Even if I hit a wall, I don’t want to quit,” he concluded.
