It’s time to check out the five biggest football leagues across the world that have met their end for this season because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The coronavirus pandemic has caused havoc in the sporting industry, with the football world being no exception. All the biggest leagues have been either cancelled or postponed. UEFA has even postponed the Champions League until further notice.
This summer’s European Championships also met its end. National teams will instead compete in 2021 to help leagues and continental competitions cope with their obstructed schedules.
The only football leagues to avoid suspension have been the Belarusian Premier League and the Liga Primera de Nicaragua (Nicaragua).
Although the Bundesliga’s recent return offers hope for the entire football community. Should it be a success, then more leagues may return soon. La Liga, Premier League and Serie A teams have already resumed training.
Unfortunately, not everyone will join them.
