After the COVID-19 pandemic led to its suspension on March 13, the Scottish Premiership officially ended two months later.
Despite the eight rounds yet to be played, Scottish clubs voted unanimously to cancel the 2019/20 campaign. An average points-per-game decided the final league standings. Therefore, Celtic won a ninth consecutive league title. They were originally 13 points ahead of second-place Rangers, having played one more match.
Hearts, meanwhile, suffered relegation. The only change in the standings was St. Johnstone, who leapfrogged Hibernian into sixth-place.
