The Argentine Football Association (AFA) cancelled all domestic action on April 28. There will be no relegation for two seasons, which was a huge plus for Diego Maradona’s Gimnasia side.
The top-flight division, Primera Division, finished on the first weekend of March. It saw Boca Juniors snatch the crown in dramatic fashion after a final day victory over Gimnasia saw them leapfrog River Plate.
But the AFA’s decision led to the 24-team Copa Superliga’s cancellation.
