Juventus – 8 times
It turns out that Juventus were actually quite successfully on the Ballon d’Or front even before Ronaldo arrived.
The Serie A champions have seen six of their players collect the prize since 1956.
After a near-miss with John Charles in 1959, Italian forward Omar Sivori delivered the Ballon d’Or to Turin two years later.
Like fellow Italians Milan, however, Juventus had a bit of a wait before they could win it again. But Paulo Rossi finally ended the long run by coming out on top in the 1982 voting panel.
The forward’s success triggered an era of dominance for the Bianconeri, with Michel Platini becoming the first player in history to win the Ballon d’Or three times in a row between 1983 and 1985.
Of course, Lionel Messi broke that record 26 years later.
Roberto Baggio later won the prize in 1993, with Zinedine Zidane following that up in 1998 before Pavel Nedved won the club’s last Ballon d’Or in 2003.
