Portugal faced Sweden in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers playoff after finishing second in the Group F, one point behind Russia.
They traveled to Stockholm with a 1-0 lead from the first leg, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
The Portuguese captain didn’t stop there though, as he bagged a hat-trick, producing one of his best-ever performances for the national team. It was Portugal 4-2 Sweden on aggregate at the end, with Cristiano Ronaldo beating the Swedes basically alone in the playoffs.
