The first case of the Premier League coming and splashing their cash in the Bundesliga was Edin Dzeko.

City paid a Bundesliga record for the giant striker when they paid £33 million for his services back in 2011. It was also their second most expensive signing ever at the time.

Dzeko initially struggled in England but hit the ground running in his second season. He scored 19 goals in his second year and followed that up with 15 in his third and 26 in his third.

He left City in 2015 with a record of 72 goals in 189 games and five trophies, including two Premier League titles.
