Manchester City haven’t been concerned about spending big money over the last decade, and they certainly did that with De Bruyne.

City paid a club record fee to sign De Bruyne from Wolfsburg and broke the Bundesliga record in the process.

It’s fair to say De Bruyne has fully justified his huge asking price in the years since. Not only has he become a Premier League star but one of the best in the world to boot.

The Belgian is an established world-class player and would command a world record fee if anyone wanted to sign him in future.
