5.- Luis Suarez
The original Luis Suárez was born #OnThisDay in 1935. A great attacking midfielder for Barca in the late 50s, he won the Ballon d’Or in 1960 & helped Spain win the 1964 Euros. He then moved to Inter & played as a deep-lying playmaker in the Grande Inter team. pic.twitter.com/eoK1eD9gh3

The first and only Spaniard who won a Ballon d’Or during his career to this day, Luis Suarez was a legend during his prime.
As a Spanish ambassador, the forward went to play in Serie A football and made a brilliant career away from his beloved country.
Before any of the great players from Spanish football’s modern era, the standard was set by Luis Suarez and it took decades to be matched by anybody else.
Despite the level of success that the players from the new era achieved, Suarez remains a unique case of a Spanish player with the Ballon d’Or.
