The key to Spain’s famous tiki-taka style of play was Xavi Hernandez, he was the player who provided all the balance to the squad as a central midfielder.
The day Spain changed its history was when manager Luis Aragones decided to give Xavi more responsibilities.
In 2008, it was Xavi the player who led his country to the first European Championship. His style of play was also essential in FC Barcelona’s many titles during the top of his game.
There simply is no tiki-taka without Xavi, he is considered Johan Cruyff’s ultimate pipe dream of the ideal player he envisioned so many years ago.
