The original controversial transfer and one that arguably added more fire to the Barcelona and Real Madrid rivalry in La Liga.

Not only did Figo’s move to Madrid break the La Liga record, but it was also a new world record fee and started the Galactico era at the Bernabeu.

He went on to make 239 appearances in Madrid, scoring 57 goals and winning seven titles with the club.

Not only that his first year saw him win the FIFA World Player of the Year and continue his status as one of the best in the world. Barcelona, though, never forgave him.
