An impressive campaign in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup led Wolfsburg to sign Osimhen. The move became official in January 2017 when the striker signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.

But Osimhen only made 16 appearances for the German side and didn’t score once. A meniscal injury caused him to miss a huge chunk of his first six months, limiting him to just two games. While only three starts came his way in the following campaign.

Despite suffering further setbacks, the Nigerian footballer’s career was revived on loan at Belgian club RSC Charleroi. He then made a €12m transfer to Lille, where he’s arguably become one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents.

Rumours suggest Osimhen could be on his way out of Lille this summer for around €60m amid interest from Premier League and Serie A clubs.
