We don’t which is the biggest mystery – Barcelona spending €40m to sign Paulinho, or Guangzhou Evergrande re-signing him for €42m!
The Brazilian became an integral part of the Blaugrana squad in 2017/18, with nine goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Paulinho capped things off with a La Liga and Copa del Rey winners medal at the end of the season.
But he returned to Evergrande the following season on loan before the Chinese club purchased him last January for €42m.
Paulinho has since delivered some strong performances in East Asia.
