After a series of failed stints at Liverpool, Sevilla and Barcelona, Alberto has found his feet at Lazio.

The Spanish midfielder joined the capital club in 2016 from Liverpool for just €4m. And nearly four years later, we can safely assume Lazio bagged themselves a bargain back then.

After an injury-troubled debut campaign, Alberto returned stronger than ever for Lazio. He registered double figures in 2017/18, providing 11 goals and 14 assists.

The former Malaga player has since returned to his best form after a lacklustre campaign last term. A key reason is down to him playing exclusively in central midfield. It’s a big change from the previous seasons, where Luis played in several roles for Lazio.

Alberto has even outshined the highly rated Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who has had Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid on his tail for a few years now.

Alberto tops the Serie A charts on 12 assists, 3 key passes-per-game and 0.4 through balls-per-game.
