It’s time to recognize some of Ronaldo’s best achievements since joining Juventus by naming the top 5 Serie A records he’s already broken.

Football has undergone many changes down the years, especially this year. But if there is one thing that remains a constant, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo and his insatiable hunger for more success.

The Portuguese superstar, widely rated as the greatest of all-time, continues to shatter records of the highest caliber and make easy work of his opponents no matter where or when.

He may be 35 now, but make no mistake about it – Ronaldo is out of the ordinary. Even a two-time Ballon d’Or winner such as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits the Juve man is an ‘extraterrestrial’ compared to the rest.

37 goals in just 46 games last season for a bloke in his mid-thirties makes it hard to argue with that one, right? Especially as Italian football is supposed to be the most defensive-orientated in all of Europe.

So here, in commemoration of a brilliant first two seasons in Turin, we’ll check out the top 5 Serie A records CR7 has already broken.

The Portuguese goal king

Portuguese legends like Luis Figo and Rui Costa may have graced the Serie A in the past, but Ronaldo is a different beast altogether.

The 35-year-old overtook Costa as the highest-scoring Portuguese player in the Italian top-flight against Bologna in June. He is currently on 52 goals and will only improve as the years roll by.

Incidentally, Ronaldo is also the only Portuguese player to score a hat-trick in Serie A history.

Most consecutive Serie A games scored in

Cristiano broke David Trezeguet’s record of scoring nine consecutive league games for Juventus in 2005. It came just three days after his 35th birthday by finding the back of the net against Hellas Verona.

He then equaled Fabio Quagliarella (2018/19) and Gabriel Batistuta’s (1994/95) record of scoring in 11 Serie A games in a row before firing a blank against Inter Milan at the end of February. 16 goals went his way in those 11 games.

Most goals in one season for Juve

To think of all the great players that have donned the black and white jersey of Juventus from Alessandro Del Piero to even Michel Platini, and yet none of them came close to what Ronaldo achieved in two seasons.

True, they’d won more trophies (for now anyway!) but only Ronaldo could surpass Felice Borel’s record of 35 goals from the 1933/34 campaign – exactly 86 years ago!

First player to score 30+ league goals in Europe’s top 3 leagues in one season

A true testament on whether Ronaldo is the greatest goalscorer of all-time would be the fact he’s the first player to score 30 or more goals in a single season in three of Europe’s top five leagues.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s brace in the 2-1 win over Lazio in July took his tally to the 30-goal mark in the 2019/20 Serie A.

He previously reached 30 or more goals six times in LaLiga with Real Madrid. And once in the Premier League at Manchester United in 2007/08, where he scored 31 times.

Fastest to a half-century of goals

Capping off the top 5 list of Ronaldo records broken is when he scored his 50th Serie A goal in a record 61 games against Lazio.

That three-minute brace in July smashed Andriy Shevchenko’s previous record of taking 68 games to score 50 goals in the Serie A for AC Milan.
