While Spain may be feeling dominant, the same cannot be said of England’s hopes in the competition.

This year the Premier League’s chances of a Europa League winner rest on the shoulders of Arsenal and Chelsea.

Willian, Chelsea, Premier League

Willian wants to play longer for Chelsea

The Blues forward, Brazilian striker Willian, believes he could make another 300 appearances for his team as his contract runs down.

Given their performances this week, it seems unlikely that either are anything more than outside contenders for the crown.

Arsenal saw off Bate but were less than impressive in doing so while the same can be said of Chelsea.

Given either side have a chance of getting into the top four, it’s hard to see them putting their focus on winning this competition.
