Beating Arsenal to the chase, AC Milan has suddenly grabbed the interest of Lucas Torreira, and the feelings are mutual.

For some players, when it rains offers, it pours. Such is the case with rising Arsenal star Lucas Torreira.

Torreira, an Uruguayan midfielder and a bench option for the Gunners has recently had a change of heart. Unlike his statements of wanting to stay with Arsenal, Torreira has now seen a more promising engagement at AC Milan.

On top of that, the Italian club has apparently submitted an offer prior to the Premier League team, thus spicing up the ongoing drama even further.

Reports note that AC Milan has already submitted a two-year loan offer to the midfielder, worth €8 million (or £7m). On top of that, Milan preserves the right to buy off Torreira for €38m (or £34m).

Arsenal, it seems, has spent plenty of cash during the transfer season, and will not find it difficult to part ways with Torreira.

As for the player, he recently stated, as per Metro, that he had been finding it difficult to find his place with the Gooners. On the other hand, Torreira has already played in Sampdoria, meaning Serie A is already a familiar ground to return to.

“I think it was better in Italy. England is a totally different world, a very large country,” said Torreira.

“The language [barrier] has cost me, to be able to relate with my peers and with the people. It is very difficult when you can’t have dialogue,” he continued.

“And so is the climate. You go out in the morning and it is cloudy, you arrive late to your home and it is cloudy.”

“It is strange a little bit, the sun, the more of us that we are here. And, we are accustomed to having always or almost always the sun. But as the years pass, I’m going to be adapting.”
