The first match between the two Spanish footballers saw a victorious Sagan Tosu take over Vissel Kobe in the Japanese Cup Round of 16
For the first time, this season Fernando ‘Niño’ Torres and Andres Iniesta played each other with ‘El Niño’ coming out victorious.
In a match for the Emperor’s Cup Round of 16, Sagan Tosu defeated Vissel Kobe 3-0.
And not only Japanese fans were able to see Torres beating Iniesta, but they also saw ‘El Niño’ score for the first time.
Torres scored at the 84th-minute mark to seal the 3-0 victory.
And after the match, Torres published a message for Iniesta on Instagram.
“Football leaves you with moments like these. We started playing together when we were 15 years old in the national team,” Torres said.
“We have shared some of the best moments in our careers y today we see each other again in Japan.”
“A pleasure to see you like always my friend,” he commented according to Marca.
