Cristiano Ronaldo is a great source of inspiration for Ferran Torres, who admits to admiring him for his conduct both on and off the field.
After enjoying a sensational breakthrough season with Valencia, Ferran Torres is now about to start a new chapter in his career as he nears a move to the Premier League.
One of the most promising talents in world football, Torres was reportedly wanted by Juventus, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and several other high-profile teams.
It is understood that he ultimately decided to choose Manchester City as his next destination and will soon sign a five-year contract to complete a €25 million move.
The 20-year Spaniard mainly operates as a right winger, but his versatility allows him to play anywhere across the forward line.
In an exclusive interview with Guillem Balague for BBC, Torres reveals he draws inspiration from David Villa, David Silva, and above all, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“From an early age, I had two main references, one when I was very small and he arrived at Valencia and that was David Villa. Villa and David Silva the duo that took Valencia to such great heights,” he said.
“But for me, Cristiano above all is a great reference not just because of the way he plays his football but also because of the way he carries himself away from football.
“It is worthy of admiration and I would like to follow his steps.”
