Ferran Torres thrives under pressure which makes him an ideal player for Jurgen Klopp’s system at Liverpool, according to Fernando Gomez.
Valencia winger Ferran Torres‘s performances have helped him become one of Europe’s brightest young talents, attracting a number of high-profile teams this season.
A product of Valencia’s youth academy, Torres has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame ever since graduating to the club’s senior squad back in 2017.
The Spaniard broke a 40-year old record and became the club’s youngest player to feature 50 times in La Liga at the age of just 19 years and 324 days during the 2-1 defeat to Real Betis last year.
Making his competitive debut against Real Zaragoza, Torres has gone on to rack up 89 appearances over the last three years, scoring nine times in the process.
Speaking in an interview with Tribal Football, Former Valencia sporting director Fernando Gomez has backed Torres to join Liverpool.
“Ferran Torres is a great player. He’s emerged very young and that is proof of his maturity,” Gomez told.
“He also plays on the inside, takes advantage of spaces, and can be part of a team that plays on the counter-attack or a dominant team in terms of possession.
“He can perform well in any team and in any league. Klopp’s system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands.”
