Talks between Tottenham and Inter Milan over a summer move for Milan Skriniar are well underway, reports in England confirm.
Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs interested in snapping up Skirinar, with Manchester United and Liverpool also in the race.
However, according to the talkSPORT, Spurs have intensified talks with Inter Milan recently as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his defense in the summer.
Skiriniar had long been an indispensable first-team player at the Giuseppe Meazza but has found himself lagging behind in Antonio Conte’s pecking order down the final stretch of the season.
After making just one start in the last five matches as a consequence of a recent bust-up with Conte, the 25-year-old could move in when the transfer window reopens for business.
Inter will sanction the transfer if they get a player in return, with the out-of-favor Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele mentioned as a potential counterpart in the deal.
Jose Mourinho is keen to keep Ndombele in London despite the latter’s disappointing first season in the Premier League.
However, the Portuguese manager also needs to replace outgoing Jan Vertonghen, who will drop into the free-agent pool once his contract expires this summer.
The Dutchman’s departure will leave a sizeable void in Mourinho’s defense, and Skiriniar is the man identified to fill in for the experienced center-back.
