Giroud’s move to Tottenham might be called off as Chelsea fail to secure a replacement on deadline day, according to David Ornstein.
A lot of transfer dealings are revolving around Olivier Giroud today. This morning, reports claimed that Spurs had agreed a fee with Chelsea for the transfer of the Frenchman.
However, that was totally reliant on the Blues landing a replacement for the 33-year-old.
Ultimately, Chelsea might have given up in their efforts to sign a striker and this could be a blow to Tottenham as well.
David Ornstein took to Twitter to reveal the news, suggesting it would now take something extraordinary for the 33-year-old to move.
This will come as a huge blow to Tottenham who are still in the market for cover with Harry Kane out injured.
The forward has scored 17 times this season and with the England international out of action, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min have led the line.
