Beijing Sinobo Guoan star striker Cedric Bakambu could swap the Chinese Super League for the English Premier League in the upcoming winter transfer market.

The 27-year-old forward arrived at the Workers’ Stadium from Villarreal last February for a reported fee of around €74 million. In his 20 appearances for Roger Schmidt’s side, the Congolese forward has netted 16 goals, drawing the attention from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the French news outlet, L’est Republicain, Mauricio Pochettino has already initiated the first contract with player’s entourage over a possible January transfer.

With Vincent Janssen currently injured and far away from his AZ Alkmaar form, the Argentine expert would like to find a suitable replacement for Harry Kane.

Although the Spurs’ headline performer shines every time he finds a little space, the north London outfit are engaged in battles on multiple fronts, and Kane needs to take rest from time to time.

However, it’s hard to expect Tottenham would match Beijing’s asking price, and it might take something special to convince the Chinese side to renounce their talisman.
