Tottenham legend Graham Roberts has urged Spurs to sign Bale and use him similar to how Juventus do with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been nothing short of impressive since he moved to Juventus in the summer of 2018.
A tally of 65 goals in 89 appearances for Juve has seen him maintain his prolific goal-scoring feats and laudable performances to date.
Ronaldo has done so well at Juventus not only because of his skill but also because of how he’s been used.
At the Turin club, CR7 is normally deployed o the left flank but ends up combining him up top with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala. Something similar to a second striker in the formation.
Gareth Bale is closing in on a loan-deal to Tottenham and Graham Roberts believes Spurs can draw inspiration from Ronaldo at Juventus.
The Spurs legend says Bale will offer Spurs a lot of options upfront and likened his abilities to the Juventus ace.
Roberts posted on his Twitter account: “And we have very good options if Gareth Bale signs, he can play right down middle when Harry not or either side.”
“Superb in air and superb shot so makes total sense to me to use him how Juve and Madrid used Ronaldo at times.”
Mourinho has spoken about a second striker for Kane and it could be something for him to consider with the imminent arrival of Bale.
But with the Welshman still four more years younger than Ronaldo, it might make more sense to solely use him on the flanks with Son and Kane completing their forward line.
In summary, it’s a herculean task for any player at all to mirror the playing style or achievements of CR7. Having played together during their time at Real Madrid, Bale would of course know that by now.
