After the Italy national team failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, many changes were made, and Roberto Mancini started to coach the squad.
And coach Gian Piero Ventura was sacked. Luigi Di Biagio took care of the team for two matches until the Italian Football Association (FIGC) hired Roberto Mancini for the job.
And now, AS Roma legend Francesco Totti believes the new manager has brought new life to the national team.
“Mancini, besides being an excellent player, has shown he has great qualities as a coach,” Totti told Marca.
“He has a very good team, capable of achieving big things.”
Totti added: “European Championships, the team will give a great account of themselves.”
The AS Roma legend also spoke about a new signing for the Giallorrosi: “Henrikh Mkhitaryan can bring quality and quantity to Roma, I hope he can adapt to Serie A quickly.”
“He will be appreciated at Roma. He has great technique and I hope he does well.”
