Yaya Toure says he did not want Manchester City to get to face Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.

Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure does not feel very sure of the Sky Blues’ chances of advancing past Real Madrid into the next round of the Champions League.

Zinedine Zidane‘s men have been quite impressive this season. Having lost just once so far, they sit atop the table in La Liga. Los Blancos also boast the best defensive record in the league this season.

Man City, on the other hand, have fallen severely behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race this season. Along with other domestic cups, Pep Guardiola’s men only have the Champions League to really play for.

The Sky Blues are set to play against Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

But Yaya Toure suggests he would not bet on Man City getting the better of the 13-time European titleholders.

“I wanted City to get Lyon or some club like that. But Real Madrid is going to be a tough game, a very, very tough game,” Toure told Omnisport.

“Real Madrid could knock us straight out. They could, they really could. Because we expect Real Madrid to be in the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and now they face City.

“I’m a little scared to be honest.”
