Kolo Toure wants Manchester City to win the Champions League so badly that he will take all the help he can get, even divine intervention.

Kolo Toure played for Arsenal before, and Liverpool and Celtic after, but he still roots for Manchester City above them all.

Toure alongside his brother Yaya bossed the Blue half of Manchester’s midfield. During a four year stint with the club, he picked up a league title and an FA Cup. But like the teams before him and those that followed the holy grail of European glory alluded him.

As he now follows the Citizens as a fan, he admits he is desperate to see them succeed. He feels that the game against Real Madrid is winnable and could mark the start of a march to that all-important success.

He admits that it is more than having the best players, and manager, but luck is a factor too. Toure even looks for divine intervention to help his old club.

Speaking to Stats Perform News he says:

“City have to win the Champions League. They’ve been so unlucky for so many years, but I pray for them to do it. When I joined that was my dream, to win the Champions League.”

“They have a top manager, they have to keep him there and make sure they bring players who can add value,” Toure said. “They need players who have experience of winning the Champions League. They have a big chance against Real Madrid.”

“You need a bit of luck, they were so unlucky against Tottenham,” Toure said. “I hope that they will win.”
