Atletico Madrid is apparently in the market for Napoli midfielder Allan.
According to Football-Italia.net, they have submitted a bid of 55 million Euros.
This initial bid has been rejected, but an improved bid is expected.
Atletico has banked over 310 million Euros from sales this summer. Antoine Greizmann, Lucas Hernandez, Rodri and Gelson Martins accounting for the vast majority of that figure.
They have spent, but are at the 243 million Euro mark. The acquisition of Joao Felix, Marcos Llorente, Mario Hermoso, Kieran Trippier, Felipe and Renan Lodi accounting for most of that amount.
So they still have plenty to spend. Before they even dip into their own transfer funds.
The 27-year-old Brazilian midfielder arrived at Napoli back in 2015. He has played 179 games for them, score 9 goals and had 15 assists accredited to him.
He was part of the Brazil squad who won Copa America earlier in the summer. He has represented the national team on 8 occasions.
He is a defensive midfielder, that Simeone feels can fill in the void left by Rodri, who went to Manchester City. Striking up a solid partnership in the centre of the pitch with Koke.
The transfer window fro the Spanish, Italian, an French leagues do not close until September 2nd. There is still time to negotiate and conclude business in an orderly fashion.
All the major leagues have either started or will start soon. Teams will make adjustments if neccesasary.
But what is apparent, is that Diego Simeone is not done building his team.
He bound determined in an attempt to break the stranglehold and dominance that either Barcelona or Real Madrid has had on La Liga.
They will no doubt go back again to try and tempt Napoli to part with Allan.
As well as try and convince others to part with players who can improve his team or fill a gap left by someone who left.
