Transfer: Coutinho on loan to Arsenal

Arsenal has made an audacious move for the Barcelona man.

According to Metro.co.uk and L’Equipe Arsenal has launched a bid to bring Philippe Coutinho to the Emirates Stadium for at least one season.

Arsenal is apparently on the verge of signing the Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

The deal is believed to be a season-long loan.

It is understood the Brazilian wants out of the Camp Nou in search of first-team football.

Barcelona needs to generate cash or at the very least clear space on their wage bill. That is if there are to be any more arrivals in Catalonia.

The story originated from the sports guru Bilel Ghazi. The man who brought us the first news of Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal’s transfer window has gained momentum very slowly.

There were calls from the fans for club owner Stan Kroenke to put up some money. Then there were stories of a 50 million pound budget.

Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League yet again this year. The feeling is that they risk falling out of the “big six” if some serious investment was not made.

La Liga and Spanish FA argument could hurt Barca

Ernesto Valverde fears that the disagreement between the Spanish Football Association and La Liga could negatively impact his Barcelona side. The Barcelona manager is expressing...

Up until the last few days the rumours have been few and far between and the offers almost nonexistent.

However, all of a sudden the gates of transfer activity have apparently burst open at the north London giants.

There was the signing of Nicolas Pepe for 72 million.

Offers being made and considered for various players in essential positions. Kieran Tierney, Raul Sanllehi, Daniele Rugani, Dayot Upamecano and now the potential arrival of  Brazilain superstar Philippe Coutinho.

Unai Emery and the Arsenal board have obviously been busy. The talk of a limited budget may be true. Between loan deals and payment arrangements for purchases.

But in all honesty, do Arsenal fans really care if it gets them the players that bring back the glory days.
