Steven Nzonzi ends his Roma nightmare with a move to Turkey.
According to Football-Italia, a statement from the Turkish giants, they said of the transfer for the player Steven Nzonzi:
“We have entered negotiations to sign Steven Nzonzi on loan from Roma.”
Nzonzi’s time at Roma has been short. He arrived last season for a fee of 26,5 million Euros.
He has made 39 appearances for the club, scoring one goal and adding two assists, into the mix.
Apparently, though neither the fans or the club have been impressed with his contribution to the team.
The deal is a loan deal initially. In which Galatasaray will pay his entire three to four million Euro a year salary.
At the end of the year, there is an option to buy for a further 15 million Euros.
Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim will hope he can help the player rediscover his best form and make the deal a bargain.
The French international has had successful spells in La Liga with Sevilla. Where he made 139 appearances, scoring 8 times with 7 assists.
He has played for two teams in England, Stoke City and Balckburn Rovers. Clocking up over 200 games between the two clubs and scoring 13 goals.
He has been called up to the French Senior squad, 14 times by Didier Deschamps.
He was a player brought in by the legendary director of football Monchi.
He, however, is also not part of the Roma backroom staff anymore either though.
He has, in fact, moved to Sevilla from where he acquired Nzonzi. As part of their new revolution, with Sevilla’s former Real Madrid manager and Spanish national team coach Julen Lopetegui as manager.
