According to Kieran Trippier, there’s no better team for a defender than Los Colchoneros as he also hailed Diego Simeone as one of the best.
English defender Kieran Trippier recently moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.
And for the right-back, there’s no better place to be a defender with Los Colchoneros.
“During these years you can see how strong Atlético has been, their teams have always looked like a family, and that is what I feel now,” he told As.
“Everything comes from Cholo, I think it can take me to the next level. For a defender, I don’t think there is a better place to be.”
And he continued to praise manager Diego “Cholo” Simeone: “The passion he has is incredible, in the games, he is seen celebrating the tickets as if they were goals, it is something that gives you a great boost.”
“I am working with one of the best coaches in the world, and Atletico is one of the biggest teams in Europe: it’s a step forward.”
“I had always liked to play abroad, so I talked to the club and said I wanted a new challenge. Every decision of my career has been brave. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to play in Spain,” he explained.
“Learning [Spanish] at the beginning is difficult, but it is essential if you want to interact with colleagues, fans, club staff, etc”.
