Cristiano Ronaldo stole the headlines on Wednesday night with a brilliant display that saw him bag a brace against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Cristiano Ronaldo was on the lips of everyone as Juventus claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday night. Even better that it was at the Camp Nou.
The result of the fixture was significant in many ways. A three-goal win was just enough to see the Bianconeri edge the Catalan giants to claim the top spot in Group G.
Another big story to the match is the big spectacle that is Ronaldo vs Messi. Going by that result yesterday, some are convinced CR7 proved himself ‘class’ ahead of his eternal rival.
For Ronaldo, the game was of individual significance as well as his two goals saw him move past 650 club career goals.
After the game, CR7 took to social media to express his delight at his side’s big win at the Camp Nou. His choice of words were pretty specific too.
“Always great to return to Spain and to Catalunya, always hard to play in Camp Nou against one of the best teams I ever faced.” Ronaldo posted on Twitter.
“Today we were a team of Champions! A true, strong and united family! Playing like this, we have nothing to fear until the end of the season… Let’s go!”
With Juventus’ latest victory, Ronaldo has now scored at least a goal in his last three Champions League games for the club. He will no doubt have his mind on more when the competition resumes for the knockout stages.
