Thomas Tuchel says he will not advise Neymar against having lavish birthday parties out of love for his players.

Neymar recently declared that he is stepping out of his tradition to hold extravagant birthday parties as he is trying to turn his focus on winning titles with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28-year old is known for going of the way on celebrations commemorating the day of his birth. Last year, Neymar invited 500 people in an event sponsored by Red Bull including the world surf champion Gabriel Medina.

Recently, Thomas Tuchel insisted that although Neymar’s parties do cause inconvenience for the other players, he did not disapprove of it.

“It’s a distraction, that’s clear. But I will always protect my players because I love them very much,” he told as Goal reports.

“I prefer to talk about certain things inside the group when it’s a little bit critical. It can give the image that we are not professionals.

“But I don’t think everything is all white or all black. I know people like to talk this way, and that’s a bit of a shame. That’s also why I don’t want to talk about it too much. But yes, it’s a distraction.”
