Thomas Tuchel has failed to rule out a move for Edinson Cavani away from PSG in January.
Despite proclaiming his love for the current Paris Saint-Germain squad, including an unsettled Edinson Cavani, Thomas Tuchel has hinted that he might not be able to hold off the Uruguayan striker until after January.
Ever since Mauro Icardi’s arrival to the French capital, Edinson Cavani has fallen down the pecking order in the team sheet. So far, he has made played nine games in Ligue 1.
The 32-year old recently handed in his transfer request which was then confirmed by PSG’s sporting director Leonardo.
Chelsea and Manchester United are understood to be the frontrunners for his signature with, recently, Atletico Madrid emerging as one of the candidates.
Ahead of PSG’ Coupe de la Ligue semi-final clash, Thomas Tuchel has reflected on the speculation surrounding Cavani’s transfer.
“I have the same opinion. As I always said, I love this group,” Tuchel declared as per Metro.
“We don’t want to lose a player but it can happen, it’s reality. We have to wait, maybe nothing will happen. I’m calm.
“Leonardo said everything and that’s good. Edi is my player and I’m happy it is like that.”
