The Paris Saint-Germain coach was present in the pre-match press conference where he spoke about his team’s style.
Paris Saint-Germain is at Old Trafford right now, as they are preparing for tomorrow’s match against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
And PSG coach Thomas Tuchel took his time to speak to the press about Kylian Mbappe and his team’s playing style.
“[MBappe] has his qualities and there’s no need to put extra pressure on him,” Tuchel told the club’s official website.
“Kylian is Kylian and can’t replace Neymar and Edinson and play his own game at the same time.”
“That’s not his job. It’s up to the rest of the team to help him with good passes and he’s here with the right spirit and this is a great opportunity for him to progress and continue to grow,” he explained.
“It’s not easy to change your playing style overnight. But it’s true that we are missing several key attacking players at the moment, but I’m not sure we should change our style.”
“We are used to playing attacking football, it’s in our DNA and changing that isn’t easy,” Tuchel continued.
“But there will be moment’s tomorrow when we are forced to play deep because Manchester United will put us under pressure. But in a match like tomorrow, we have to play as well as possible in every situation.”
“I don’t think about the result because we can’t always control that in football,” he added.
“But we can try and control our performance and I want us to play with courage, ready to fight and work hard with each other… but we are here to score, that’s for sure.”
