Manchester City is targeting a defensive addition to their squad.

Inter Milan’s Slovakia defender Milan Skriniar has emerged as Pep Guardiola’s number one target.

City had not planned on a winter signing but may make a move after both Barcelona and Real Madrid expressed an interest in the player. (Mirror)

Eriksen is not Conte’s first choice

Inter Milan and Antonio Conte have lodged a £20m bid for wantaway Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

However, the Danish international is not Inter boss Conte’s first-choice midfield addition.

Aston Villa and Newcastle have both expressed an interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud. It was believed that the two Premier League sides were the front runners.

Manchester United may have to wait until the summer for Maddison

Manchester United’s number first-choice signing in the midfield is Leicesters James Maddison.

But the conclusion of a deal in January is seemingly unlikely and the transfer may have to wait until the summer.

Shock Real Madrid exit for Modric

Real Madrid’s midfield maestro Luka Modric is considering a move to the USA.

It is understood that the Croatian international has already held preliminary talks with MLS side DC United.

DC has just parted company with Wayne Rooney and is looking for another famous name to add to their roster. (The Athletic)

Juventus to hold on to midfield pair

Despite interest from both Manchester United and Everton Juventus will not sell Emre Can or Adrien Rabiot this January.

Both players arrived in Turin on free transfers and would signify a huge boost in the clubs balance sheet.

Ancelotti looking to splash the cash at Everton

Everton’s new manager is keen to bring in a high world-class player to transform his Everton side.

The top target is Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes who has a rumored 102 million Euro buy out clause.

Ancelotti is willing to sell up to three players to fund the deal.

Strikers Oumar Niasse and Cenk Tosun as well as Cuco Martina, have all been transferred listed to raise funds. 

Everton faces stiff competition from West Ham United who has apparently already started negotiations. (Express)
