UEFA has caused an uproar by omitting N’Golo Kante to accommodate Cristiano Ronaldo.
UEFA have changed the formation of the team of the year, to ensure that Cristiano Ronaldo could be accommodated.
The team of the year is a collective group of 11 players that are selected by the fans.
The fans pick their favorite players for each position and based on the number of votes the team is formed.
However, this year there were some changes to ensure a certain superstar was included. It is believed that Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante made way for Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Sport Bible, UEFA claimed the change was made to reflect both fan votes and player achievements.
“The formation for this year’s team of the year was chosen to reflect the votes of the fans in parallel with the players’ achievements in UEFA competitions.”
“As a result, there are five UEFA Champions League winners and four UEFA Nations League finalists (including one winner).”
“The formation changes on a regular basis and this year is no exception.”
It is true that the Portugal and Juventus star had a less spectacular season than usual.
But let’s be honest, who in their right mind would not have CR7 in their team by choice?
