Barcelonas centre-back has hinted that it is his wish to sign a new contract with the newly crowned La Liga and Copa del Rey champions
It is commonly known that the french international has been in the spotlight of a number of big clubs since his failed contract negotiations earlier in the season. Despite the problems, it is still the 24-year-old’s wish to stay at the Nou Camp.
“There is nothing new,” Umtiti told reporters while on international duty for France,” according to Marca.
“I look at my phone, but nothing has advanced. It won’t annoy me if it’s not sorted before the World Cup because negotiations have already been going on for several months.
“It’s important, though, to try to solve this case before the start of the World Cup. From my point of view, it will be done.”
The big frenchman has been a huge success since joining the catalan side from Lyon in the summer of 2016.
