Samuel Umtiti has once more reiterated his desire to renew his current deal at Barcelona, amid reported interest from Manchester United
The French defender has formed a strong partnership with Gerard Pique at the Nou Camp and impressed with his strong and assured displays at the back as he won his first La Liga winner’s medal since arriving from Lyon in 2016.
Umtiti has yet to sign a contract with the Catalan giants and has a release clause of €60m.
Barcelona are keen to renew the 24-year-old’s deal at the club and want to increase his release clause, which is something that Umtiti would welcome.
“I’m at a club that allowed me to realise my dream of playing there,” he told L’Equipe, via Sport.
“I’m still under contract at the moment. So for me to leave, either they throw me out the door or I decide to leave [laughs].”
Umtiti has made 83 appearances for Barcelona in his two years and has already collected four trophies in that time.
