It appears that Bayern Munich may hold the upper hand in the race for Jonathan David as he declares his preference to move to the Bundesliga.

20-year-old Canadian international Jonathan David currently plays for Belgian side Gent.

However, after 23 goals and 10 assists in 40 games, he has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s elite.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are all said to be keeping close tabs on the player.

The player himself admits he feels it is time for him to take the next step in his career. But the Red Devils and the Gunners may want to look away now, as he has his eye on a particular league.

Speaking to Sky Sports he insists he knows what he wants.

David said:

“I think I can make the next step.”

“It’s time for me to move and go somewhere where I can keep developing and get to the potential that I have.”

“The league that would suit me the most right now is the Bundesliga.”

“It’s similar to the Belgian league in terms of the tempo and the physicality.”

“Obviously the quality is higher in Germany and there is more competition.”
