The Red Devils are ready to make a summer move for De Ligt, with Juventus reportedly open to selling the Dutchman after his struggles at the club.

De Ligt was one of the most wanted players in Europe last summer after turning down a number of clubs to sign for Juventus in a £67.5m deal.

Manchester United were among the clubs vying for the former Ajax captain’s signature but missed out and ended up signing Harry Maguire from Leicester City.

It didn’t all go according to plan with De Ligt struggling for form and looking shaky in his first few appearances for Juventus.

Only until towards the second half of the current campaign, did the Dutchman start to impress and was looking more like the player Juventus hoped he would be.

Despite that, ESPN h/t by Metro are reporting that De Ligt still hasn’t convinced Maurizio Sarri and the club might be open to selling for the right money.

At some point, De Ligt even lost his place to Demiral and only returned when the Turk got injured in January.

United are now understood to be monitoring the situation in case Juve decide to cut their losses.

They are aware that the player’s agent Mino Raiola has a reputation for moving his clients on quickly and De Ligt could become available next summer or even sooner.

De Ligt recently claimed he was enjoying life in Juventus and we can only take this report with a pinch of salt.

The 20-year-old has featured 20 times for Juventus in the Serie A this season, scoring two goals in the process.
