Valencia’s pursuit of Champions League qualification continues after a goalless draw against Eibar with head coach Marcelino Garcia Toral now keen on securing their top four-spot next weekend

Los Che was held at the Mestalla on Sunday’s La Liga fixture and they have now gone four games without a victory.

Despite the recent setbacks, Valencia holds an 11-point lead over rivals Real Betis in the battle for the remaining top four place with the latter set to host bottom-place Malaga later today.

“LaLiga lasts 38 games, we’ve known that since the beginning of the season. But we were so excited about being so close, that anxiety got to us as the game went on. Normally we would have won this game with the number of chances we created. We had more than enough dominance and chances to win the game. But we weren’t efficient enough,” Toral told en.valenciacf.com

The former Villarreal manager is now determined for his side to confirm their place in the Champions League for next season by defeating his former club on Saturday.

“I’m sad not to have qualified for the Champions League today with our fans who supported us today and have done since the summer. It wasn’t to be because we didn’t finish. Now within six days, there’s another game we have to win. We’ll go to a tough ground against a tough opponent but we want to beat them. I’m not anxious, I just want to qualify. We know how hard it is to achieve your goals.” added Toral.
