Valencia manager Albert Celades has admitted his side are in talks with Barcelona to sign Rodrigo.
Rodrigo emerged only a couple of days ago as Barcelona’s primary target. He is wanted to fill in for the injured Luis Suarez.
Barca had already been contemplating signing another striker. But the injury to Suarez only compounded the need for such a player.
Valencia’s Rodrigo is apparently the man that the Camp Nou wants to bring in.
Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also thought to be on that list. However, he is deemed to be to hard a target to attain in the January window.
According to Goal, Celades openly admitted the Catalonians wanted the player and negotiations were underway.
“Rodrigo is a player who can make the difference, that’s why Barcelona want him,”
“The negotiation is open and we will not hide.”
