Ernesto Valverde admits he is a fan of apparent Barcelona target Dani Olmo.

Dani Olmo currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb.

However, the 21-year-old Spanish international has been very public in his courting of a move to Catalonia.

Olmo was once on the books at Barca but left after failing to make a first-team appearance during his seven-year stay.

During his four years with Zagreb’s first team, he has amassed 124 appearances, 34 goals, and 28 assists.

This kind of form as an attacking midfielder has attracted the like of Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona.

It seems though that a return home to the latter is what appeals to the player most.

Barca’s interest has been well-publicized too, and now Valverde has only added fuel to the fire.

In today’s press conference reported by Goal, Valverde was full of praise for Olmo but also devoid in his comments of ruling out a move.

He said:

“He is a player that has been here before.”

“He’s a good footballer but he’s with another team and I don’t talk about speculation.”

“We have to be cautious.”

It’s not clear if any move will be immediate or completed in the summer.
