Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde spoke at the press conference ahead of Barca’s Inter clash in the second fixture of the Champions League.
While Barcelona started the season badly, the results are on the rise with two consecutive league wins.
The team struggles away from Camp Nou, winning only their last match, and having eight-match streak without an away win.
Pique saw the reason for a bad start in the horrible preseason organization.
Barca defender made his thoughts known, criticizing the board for setting up the preseason the way they did.
Ernesto Valverde was asked about this conflict. Barcelona’s manager spoke in the Champions League pre-match press conference.
According to Marca, Valverde cooled things down, saying:
“What interests us all is focussing on what we have in front of us.
“A lot is expected of us and we have to try, knowing that controversies happen in our club, to go in the same direction.
“Regardless of whether one or another has different opinions, let the controversies come from the outside.
“We all have to go in the same direction, which is tomorrow’s game.
“We’ve done a lot to make sure everyone is going in the same direction. If you win, everything is a lot better.”
When asked about Messi’s injury, Valverde added:
“We’ll see if he receives the all-clear.
“We’re going to wait and see how training goes. We’re not going to run any risks.”
Barcelona are ready to face Inter on Wednesday after drawing at Dortmund in the opening round.
The match is scheduled to take place at 21:00 CET.
