Valverde expects Madrid to challenge until the end

Barcelona Coach Ernesto Valverde says Real Madrid are still in contention for the title despite their position on the LaLiga table.

Valverde believes Real Madrid will be a major threat until the final game of the season even as they are seven points behind the league leaders.

“We consider Real Madrid a candidate for the title for the rest of the season,” he told a news conference via FourFourTwo.

“I know that the differences seem great, but are not, just seven points. They are one of our rivals.”

Barcelona will be heading to Getafe on Sunday while Real Madrid will host Real Sociedad in an encounter which will further define their position in the LaLiga. A win could push them closer to Barcelona if the Catalan club draws or loses to Getafe.
