Pressure, what pressure, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde believes he has the support and respect of the club.
Valverde is preparing his side for La Liga match against Celta Vigo.
In his pre-match press conference, he faced questions about his future and the pressure he under to get the team back on top.
According to Marca, the Barca boss has no fears, and after meeting with president Josep Maria Bartomeu, he feels both the support and respect of the club.
“[My future] doesn’t worry me.”
“I went to eat with [Bartomeu].”
“The club has always supported me and I feel respected.”
The Spanish tactician knows what his side needs to do.
“We know that there are matches which we haven’t won and that always creates instability for morale.”
“Sometimes we echo very much those who want to unbalance us.”
“We have to stand firm and keep up the intensity.”
“For us, tomorrow’s game is important and we want to continue as [league] leaders.”
Valverde may feel comfortable, but he is nobody’s fool. He knows as well as anyone, that the dreaded vote of confidence is nothing but a smokescreen if results don’t improve.
