The Blaugrana manager believes the team is thinking in the long-term as he has signed three footballers this summer.
So far during this summer transfer window, Barcelona has signed three different players: Frenkie De Jong, Antoine Griezmann and Neto.
And the Blaugrana manager Ernesto Valverde spoke today to Marca on what the new players mean for his team.
“Last season [De Jong] played at a great level like Ajax did,” he said.
“He is a footballer who will give freshness to the midfield and he is a project for the future because he is a quality footballer who has many years of football ahead and who has our style of play.”
About the Frenchman Griezmann, he added: “He is a footballer with experience in La Liga Santander and in that aspect, he is more settled than De Jong.”
“He is fast, plays well into space and he is a good finisher.”
“We trust him a lot, we know what this type of player is worth and we expect immediate performance,” he said.
And about Neto, he had the following words to say: “He will bring safety between the goalposts.”
“He is an experienced goalkeeper and the ideal player to work with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.”
